Lansing United announces 2014 schedule

Today the National Premier Soccer League announced the 2014 schedule for Lansing United. Lansing will play in the Midwest Region’s Great Lakes Conference. The Great Lakes Conference is made up of two divisions, East and West. Lansing will play in the West Division with Westfield Select (Westfield, Ind.), Detroit City FC, Michigan Stars and the Cincinnati Saints. The East Division will be comprised of the Erie Admirals, Fort Pitt Regiment, AFC Cleveland and FC Buffalo. Each team in the Great Lakes Conference will play 14 league games, 7 home and 7 away.

Lansing will kick off their inaugural season with a home game on Friday night May 16th at the East Lansing Soccer Complex against Westfield Select. That will be followed by a second home game 2 days later against the Michigan Stars. Lansing will host 2 league games in May, 2 in June and 3 in July. Lansing United will play every team in the Great Lakes Division at least once. United will face Eastern Division foes Erie and PA West on the road and host AFC Cleveland and FC Buffalo. In the Western Division Lansing will face Detroit City and Cincinnati twice. United will play Westfield and Michigan three times. Westfield twice at home and Michigan twice on the road.
