Lansing United to play home games at East Lansing Soccer Complex

PUBLISHED ON: November 26, 2013

Lansing United will play the home portion of their 2014 schedule at the 800-seat East Lansing Soccer Complex. The complex has two fields, one with lights and one without.

“Having a home complex with two fields gives us flexibility to play our games both at night and during the day,” said Lansing United President/CEO Jeremy Sampson. “This is a fantastic facility that our fans will love and I envision us having a true home field advantage every time we take the pitch.”

The home portion of the schedule will include seven games against NPSL opponents from the Midwest Division’s Great Lakes Conference. It will also include one friendly against an opponent to be named.

“The City of East Lansing is pleased that the East Lansing Soccer Complex and Archer Stadium will be the home location for the inaugural season of the Lansing United NPSL Soccer Team.” said Parks, Recreations & Arts Director Tim McCaffrey. “This is a great opportunity for our area and the City of East Lansing is honored to be a part of the excitement.”

The NPSL is a national league that operates in the 4th Division of the U.S. Soccer pyramid. NPSL teams are eligible to participate in the U.S. Open Cup through their affiliation with the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA). The NPSL is the fastest-growing national soccer league in the U.S., operating in 60+ markets across the country. Two Major League Soccer (MLS) clubs, D.C. United and the New York Red Bulls, operate U-23 squads in the NPSL.
