Coming off their first win in the history of a Lansing United Women’s team, United will travel to Indiana tonight to battle it out against Indy Premier SC (1-1-0) in Lansing’s first out-of-state match.

United (1-0-1) will have fresh legs after an off week of matches. At practices this week they focused on the speed of play and tactical drills as well.

“We were just trying to work on some things that we saw in the first couple matches,” head coach Jason Crist said.

This will be Indy’s home opener at Marian University after they lost to Detroit Sun FC 2-0 and earned a 1-0 victory against Fort Wayne Gryphons.

“We’re just gonna focus on doing us,” Crist said. “Make them adjust to us instead of the other way around.”

Going into week four, the team is continuing to progress each week and further their team chemistry.

“We’re trying to do some activities where it forces them to play quickly and together,” Crist said. “They are a great group.”

After a full week of intense practices and work on speed of play, Lansing will look to secure a win and 3 points this weekend, continuing their already impressive road streak.

Depending on the outcome of several other games in the UWS Midwest region this weekend, Lansing could secure a spot in the top-three.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 pm at Marian University located in Indianapolis, Ind.

United staffers will be on-site for the match, so supporters who are unable to make the match can stay updated on the club’s twitter and Facebook.
